The parks and grounds of the historic Werribee Mansion once again play host to the 18th annual Children’s Week Picnic this October, in a day jam-packed with fun for all ages.

Sponsored by YPA Real Estate, Paul Sadler Swimland and Bellamy’s Organic, the emphasis is on fun, educational, healthy and arty activities for young and old.

On the Great Lawn, the ever-inventive Polyglot theatre company presents ‘Tangle’, encouraging kids to create their own play-space out of woven elastic with the backing of live music. The end result? An interactive public art installation for all to enjoy.

Sports Zone will be there, offering the chance to try out up to seven different sports, including lacrosse and DrillDance, while The Whale’s Tale from Born in a Taxi will immerse you in an underwater playground full of surprises, with an environmental tale sure to captivate.

All this, and so much more – from food trucks, musicians and roving entertainers, photo booths, a Toy Swap and Silent Disco – perhaps even some friends from the zoo will be there for the fun. Even better, the whole day is absolutely free!

It's another great example of the kind of events and activities our pocket of Melbourne is so beloved for.

Be advised, there is limited free parking on site – consider the train to Wyndham Vale or Werribee Train Stations, where a free shuttle bus to the event will be operating. The Children’s Week Picnic is happening Sunday 28 October at Werribee Mansion, K Road Werribee South.
