In the event of a scorching summer day, it’s probably best to have a few plans up your sleeve that are sure to instantly cool you down. Well, Warrnambool Beachfest may be the very solution for you and your family these holidays!

Located only a couple of hours drive from Tarneit, Warrnambool is one of many seaside destinations within easy reach. Now in its third year, their beachside festival will provide just over a month of family-fun events.

There’s a full program of free and low-cost activities sure to delight young and old. Of course, all the old favourites have returned including sand sculpting workshops and the Big Beach Bash. Tunes in the Dunes, twilight movies in the park and summer night markets will also be back.

Keeping things fresh on the Warrnambool Foreshore, there’ll also be a few new and exciting additions! Any budding singers will no doubt want to tackle a round of SingStar Karaoke…or two. For those looking for a more relaxed pace, there are street art and guided walking tours. And finally, for the creatives, there will be pop up art installations on the promenade and a sewing station.

There’s really something for everyone at this festival, and we’ve only given you a brief breakdown! We’d definitely recommend checking this out if you’re planning a drive down the coast this summer. It’s the perfect pastime whether you’ve got a week to explore the area, or just taking a day trip.

The Warrnambool Beachfest will run from Friday 28 December through to Saturday 26 January. For more information and for the full activity line-up, visit the event website.

So, be sure to slip, slop, slap this summer and make the most of the warmer weather. Also, if you’d like to share your beachside adventures with us, or if you’ve heard of any fun upcoming events, share them on our Facebook page!
