Things to look forward to as Tarneit grows - community development

Tarneit is growing fast – nearly as fast as our community here at Orchard! – and there’s a lot happening to make sure that all our new residents have access to amazing services and infrastructure. Here are just five of the many things you can look forward to seeing soon…

1. Orchard Park in full bloom

Orchard Park is so close to completion it might even be ready by the time you finish reading this story! The centrepiece of our wonderful community, Orchard Park will have lawns and open space, walking paths and picnic areas, playgrounds, landscaped gardens and shady trees. There’s so much to look forward to – stay tuned for news about the Grand Opening!

2. Wyndham scores!

An elite football club like Western United needs elite facilities, and that’s exactly what they’re getting! Two synthetic pitches and a grass pitch with seating for 5,000 spectators, as well as change rooms and spaces for gymnasiums, meeting rooms and offices, the $25 million facility will sit alongside the 15,000 seat Wyndham City Stadium on Sayers Road.

Due to be completed in 2023, the Wyndham Elite Training Facility will also be available for community use (if our A-League stars can ever drag themselves away!).

3. Education makes the grade

Davis Creek Primary School opened this year at 65 Wootten Road in Tarneit, with principal Philip Fox in charge. A kinder is also being built on the same site. Due for completion in 2021 the kinder will make the transition to primary school easy for our local kiddies!

But the good news doesn’t end there… Garrang Wilam Primary School is under construction in nearby Truganina and should be finished early next year, also with plans for a kinder.

And don’t forget about the proposed future non-government school within walking distance of your Orchard home!

4. Driving home our advantage

In its 2020-21 budget, Wyndham council set aside $23 million for road projects, which includes the upgrade of Tarneit Road between Sayers and Leakes Roads. And there are other exciting road infrastructure projects in the pipeline!

The North and West Melbourne City Deal contains a heap of great initiatives that will directly benefit our community, including a bridge at Ison Road over the Geelong railway line, linking west Wyndham to the Princes Freeway and providing a continuous drive through Wyndham Vale, Tarneit and Truganina.

Not only will the Ison Road Bridge relieve traffic congestion around Werribee, but it will also give our community easy access to the future employment hubs in and around Werribee Junction.

5. A centred community

The new Riverdale Community Centre in Bethany Road Tarneit West is expected to be complete in January 2021, providing the younger members of our growing community with access to early education and care services, including:

  • Maternal Child Health
  • Consulting rooms
  • A community gathering space
  • Programs to suit all ages
  • Free WiFi
  • Meeting spaces
  • Extensive car parking
  • Outdoor playground

Sustainability is an important part of the project, as Mayor Cr Josh Gilligan explains: “A key component in the design of this building is sustainability – and we will ensure that we are minimising the negative environmental impact at all stages, from design to construction, and once complete and operational.”

With so much to look forward to, who wouldn’t want to live in Tarneit’s premier masterplanned community? Book an appointment to discuss your future at Orchard, or browse our incredible range of House & Land packages.
