Get on the lawn with Twilight Bowls

One of the nice things that has happened over the last ten years is the re-emergence of lawn bowls as a fun, social activity. No longer the domain of the white-clad blue-rinse set, this cheery and gently challenging sport has been embraced by a new generation for its casual yet competitive nature.

And you too can take part thanks to The Hive @ Werribee Bowls Club, with Twilight Bowls. Each Wednesday evening over the daylight savings period, people are gathering to chase that jack and have a bit of relaxed fun.

To get a game, just ensure that your name is entered on the sheet under the noticeboard in the clubroom prior to 5pm each Wednesday afternoon. If you’re new to bowls, The Hive recommends you contact the club first on 9741 3229 to arrange a free introductory coaching session with one of their accredited coaches to cover the basics.

It’s worth it, and will give you a more enjoyable perspective on things because like all the best games it’s easy to learn – but difficult to master! The Hive @ Werribee Bowls Club is located at 237 Watton St, Chirnside Park Werribee.
