Given the rich agricultural and hand-built heritage of Orchard and the areas surrounding Tarneit, there’s no shortage of community led markets where you can find some of the best local crafts and produce Victoria has to offer.

Here is a selection of markets you should make a beeline for whenever your pantry needs stocking up, or you’re looking for something unique for that special someone!

Darley Market

Held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month, the Darley Market serves to help raise funds for the Darley Football Club.

It’s a delightful parkside country style market where you can pick up a variety of plants, preserves, bric-a-bracs and assorted other goods like tools and handicraft.

The markets meet at the Darley Football Oval on Fitzroy St and run from 8am to 1pm. Entry is free.

Eynesbury Farmers Market

Eynesbury Farmers Market provides fresh, locally grown organic foods with the aim of stimulating the western regional economies and create opportunities for local growers and small enterprises. You can also enjoy the creative output of local artisans with the Eynesbury Artisans Market.

Happening alongside the Farmers Market you’ll find papercraft, leatherwork, jewellery and more on offer. Scheduled for the 4th Sunday of every month there are bands and even food trucks to sate the senses!

The markets are free and operate on the grounds of the famous Eynesbury Homestead from 8am to 2pm.

The Community Grocer Wyndham

In collaboration with Wyndham City Council, the Community Grocer is a not for profit organisation that aims to make fresh fruit and veggies something that everyone can access!

With an emphasis on low-cost quality produce, this weekly pop-up market runs from 3pm-6pm out of the Youth Resource Centre at 86 Derrimut Rd, Hopper’s Crossing.

There are credit card facilities available, and entry is free with all profits returned into the community.

See you among the stalls!
