As any new mum or dad knows, it’s important to have a place close to home where they can meet fellow parents, and their little ones can crawl and play with children their own age in a safe, supervised environment.

With the growing number of young families calling Tarneit home, a number of groups in the Wyndham area offer playgroup facilities to allow new parents a brief respite, and a chance to connect while their kids play and explore.

The benefits for both personal and community wellbeing are well known. With that in mind, let’s take a look at three Tarneit playgroups for you and your little ones to discover!

Wyndham Playgroup

Every Monday from 10am to 11.30am at Tarneit Central Shopping Centre during school terms, Wyndham Playgroup lets families or caregivers with children the opportunity to meet others within the local community. Operated by Wyndham City Council’s Children and Family Resource Unit, it provides kids with the chance to play and learn among others, while parents can find out more about other local services and community activities.

Sri Lankan Women and Children's Playgroup

The Sri Lankan Women and Children's Playgroup promotes early learning to Tarneit and Wyndham Vale’s community through rhyme times and story times in Sinhalese. Kids are encouraged to build a strong identity and prepare for Kindergarten, while women are encouraged to meet and build a strong network in support of one another.

Pacific Playgroup meets every Wednesday from 11am to 1pm, and is $25 per term.
