TARNCON 2018 returns to Tarneit!

The rise of comic books and science fiction over the last decade has been dramatic. What was once frowned upon or lived at the fringes of the public imagination has matured into a multi-billion dollar industry of superheroes and space-inspired spectacle, to the joy and fascination of every one who appreciates a ripping tale.

And while Oz Comic Con – a massive multi-city spectacle supported by big-ticket sponsors – has been and gone this year for Melbourne pop culture lovers, Tarneit will soon be host to its very own mini-celebration of pop culture goodness with TARNCON 2018 as it returns for its second year.

TARNCON 2018, made possible by Robinson’s Bookshop and Wyndham City Council, kicks off at the Tarneit Library on Friday 20 July. It’s a mini pop culture convention so expect an evening of cosplay, trivia and comic book awesomeness, including workshops to help you bring your own stories to life in art and words.

There are prizes up for grabs too, so get your friends together and get brainstorming with your friends whether it will be Avengers assemble, or Kylo Ren’s revenge for this year’s TARNCON. Be there at the Julia Gillard Library Tarneit from 6pm, at 150 Sunset Views Boulevard. Entry is free. For more info, call 8734 0200... and may the force be with you!
