Junior Rangers to the rescue!

There’s nothing like an Australian national park, and Victoria has some of the best in the country. What better way then to get your kids interested and engaged with nature than by making them Junior Rangers?

Junior Rangers is a fantastic Parks Victoria program offering you a great way to introduce your little ones to Australia’s diverse flora and fauna and in particular, the plants and animals that live in their local area.

Better yet, participation is free. It’s not a club, and no membership is required to take part.

Instead, Junior Ranger activities are run for the most part over weekends and school holidays. Discover marine life in rock pool rambles along the coast, spotlight the night wildlife in parks... there are even underground adventure tours!

Orchard residents will be pleased to hear that Parks Victoria holds Junior Rangers activities at a number of nearby locations, including Point Cooke Marine Sanctuary, the You Yangs and the Brisbane Ranges. Kids also get take-home activities to complete with family and friends.
