If you or your family love playing sport, then we have some very exciting news!

$12.17 million has been earmarked in the Wyndham City Council’s proposed Annual Plan and Budget to develop a major sporting and active recreation facility within the Community Precinct Master Plan for Tarneit North, just a few minutes from our Orchard community.

The Tarneit North Master Plan is bordered by Boundary Road (north), Leakes Road (south), Davis Road (west) and Derrimut Road (east). It’s our home patch!

With a cricket oval and practice nets, soccer pitches, softball diamonds, tennis courts, a central pavilion, barbecue and picnic facilities, a dedicated children’s play area with an integrated family centre and, of course, plenty of car parking, your family’s sporting dreams can be lived out in your own neighbourhood.

The plans also include floodlights for evening practice sessions, players’ shelters around the various field boundaries, extensive walking and cycling paths, multiple access points and gathering space around the pavilion for spectators and the community.

The complex will sit alongside two proposed future schools, creating a fantastic resource for kids involved in sport as well as the entire Tarneit community.

Wyndham City Council consulted with the community before putting together this year’s budget, the results of which you can read in their Community Engagement Report. Or, check out the full proposed budget on their website.

We’ll keep you posted about further developments once the budget is approved!
