Make Summer a Real Page Turner

On a warm summer day, there’s nothing better than kicking back and relaxing with a good book. It’s the perfect time to relish in a quiet moment with an enthralling read. The days are long, you might have time off work or school, and what better way to recover from the holiday madness.

Indulging in a delightful page-turner has been sweetened even more so, thanks to the City of Wyndham’s Summer Reads competition. Wyndham City Libraries is offering exciting prizes for bookworms of all ages, encouraging everyone to be vivacious readers this summer.

Participants are encouraged to explore the world of books to their hearts content in this program, with different categories to suit all ages. Children may enter the Kids Summer Reading Club, there’s also a Teen Summer Read for those aged 12-18 and a category for adults too.

Whether you’re an avid booklover, or just discovering this wonderful pastime, the initiative encourages everyone to get involved.

Kids will need to read 10 books and return their reading log to their local library to be in the running for the major prize. At the end of summer, five lucky reading club members will win a Zoos Victoria membership. For teens and adults, log your finished books online and include a short review. The more books read, reviews written and activity logged, the more chances you’ll have to win.

As for the prizes up for grabs in these major draws…teens will have the chance to win $100 or $50 Robinsons Bookshop vouchers. And for adults, a $150 Shadowfax voucher plus a Google Home Mini is up for grabs. The competition runs summer long, from Saturday December 1 until Thursday January 31.

There are five libraries to be found across Wyndham municipality, with Julia Gillard Library, Tarneit located less than 10 minutes from Orchard Estate. So, get borrowing and start reading today for a summer that’s sure to be full of adventure no matter where you are!
