As the West grows, its great to see a wider variety of parks and playgrounds begin to pop up for kids of all ages to enjoy. We’ve been to three of the most interesting spots within a half hour drive, and can tell you that the future is fun

What kid doesn’t want their own BMX track to feel like a true track racer? Well, Heathdale BMX Track and Wetlands is just the ticket for kids big and small who have left the training wheels behind. Beside’s the BMX track, there’s a boardwalk winding through the wetland’s expanse of bush for a bit of bird-spotting, plus picnic area and rotunda. Kneepads and helmets a must for those riding!

Where to start? Kids will ask themselves the same question with this long and activity packed waterside playground full of climbing frames, nest swings and slides. With soft-fall areas and plenty of shade, this is going to be one very popular spot as the warmer months roll around.
Remember of course to slip, slop and slap... and have fun!

This adventure playground in nearby Rockbank is a hoot, with rope bridges, suspended rope tunnels, sand pit, water play and more. There’s a mini skateboard ramp as well as a basketball court, and a spot for families to gather with undercover areas that will be much welcomed come the height of summer.
Perfect for nature-inspired play and those with a streak of daring!
